May is National Osteoporosis Awareness Month

May is National Osteoporosis Awareness Month and the Cantata Fitness Staff offer these tips on living your best life with Osteoporosis:

  • If you are living with osteoporosis, exercising helps maintain bone mass you already have.
  • It is important to incorporate resistance, flexibilty and weight-bearing exercises into your exercise program to build bone mass and density. When these two components (bone mass & density) decrease, the risk of falls and fractures increases.
