Marti Hannon
Director of Life Enrichment
Marti Hannon is Director of Life Enrichment at Cantata Adult
Life Services. She is responsible for directing programs and
activities that engage the mind, body and spirit to help clients
live a better life and accomplish their goals.
With a renewed focus on active living and healthy relationships,
Marti's current projects include the development of a new training
and support program for at home caregivers, the expansion of
transportation services for residents of Cantata as well as the
surrounding neighborhoods, additional social and shopping outings,
and the installation of an accessible therapeutic garden this
spring.
Marti has had a connection with older adults her entire
life. From a child accompanying her parents to
retirement homes where they ran a bible study program to organizing
intergenerational outreach programs while in college, she has
always tried to help people live their lives a little better.
"My motto is 'Imagine your dream, create your
happiness and live your life,'" said Marti. "Here at Cantata, my
goal is to help people live abundantly in whatever role they choose
and to help families stay connected with their loved ones."
Marti joined The British Home in July of 2010 with over 18 years
of healthcare experience both as a patient care technician in
emergency rooms and patient care units and as an activities
coordinator. Previously, she was with The Comprehensive Group
as an activity consultant and has traveled the country as a
wellness coach overseeing corporate wellness events. Marti
began her career offering life enrichment opportunities to people
in psychiatric centers and to people with special needs and memory
loss. She is certified as a Therapeutic Recreational
Specialist.
Marti earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree, Magnus Cumae Laude
from Eastern Michigan University.
