A Typical Day for a Cantata CNA
Want to know what a typical day might be like if you were to
become a Certified Nursing Assistant? This section is
designed to give you a taste of what working as a Cantata
CNA is all about. Of course, you'll bring your own life
experience and personality. We'll provide the training you need to
become a great CNA.
8 a.m. - Greetings start off my day
I greet my clients by name with a happy
face, and before I leave them I ask, "Is there anything else I can
do for you? I have the time." I know how important it is to
make sure my clients have a chance to ask for what they need.
10:00 a.m. - Using technology to document progress
I use an iPad to document my clients' medical profiles and
progress! We also have computers on wheels for inputting
information. It's very exciting to work for a company that
values technology and how it helps me do my job better.
1:45 p.m. - Learning and mentoring is key
I see my nurse mentor in the hall and
give her a wave. I like it that at Cantata, all CNAs have
nurse mentors who guide us in how we care for our clients and help
us to grow in our professional skills.
3 p.m. - Safety comes first!
We use Hoyer lifts to help clients who need it in and out of
beds and chairs. This helps us stay safe, healthy and able to
serve those for whom we provide care. I know that at Cantata,
the safety of our clients is always of primary concern.
